Christiane Taubira (born 2 February 1952, Cayenne, French Guiana) is a French politician, and, from May 15, 2012, the Justice minister in the new Ayrault government, under President Hollande. Christiane Taubira gave her name to the 21 May 2001 law which recognizes the Atlantic slave trade as a crime against humanity.
